41st ANNUAL NWGA SHOOTOUT

FIELD LIMIT: 80 (MEN, WOMEN & JUNIORS) ENTRY FEE $290/Golfer, $60/Social | ENTRY DEADLINE: April 27, 2026
Eligibility
Entries are open to NWGA members, guest (non-indexed golfers), and amateur golfers who have an up-to-date USGA Handicap Index issued by the USGA.
Field Limit
Field will be limited to the first 80 entrants. Entries will be accepted according to the time of receipt of entry and entry fee. NWGA reserves the right to modify the field limit to accommodate additional competitors.
Entries: Form, Fee and Closing Date
All players must have an entry application submitted either by: (1) on the FSGC website (firstategolfclub.com) with a credit card, or (2) by mail with a completed paper application form and check or credit card authorization form. Entry fee of $290 must be paid by every player. Payment will be processed at the time of entry. A full refund will be issued to players who are placed on a waiting list and do not make the starting field.
Entry applications, along with the appropriate fee, must be completed or received by NWGA by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, April 27, 2026. Late entry applications may be accepted and used to fill spots; contact Sanders Pratt, Tournament Director (206) 794-0667, after deadline close for waitlist inclusion.
Refund Policy
Refunds due to cancellation before the close of entry are subject to a $10 service charge and must be requested by April 27, 2026. After the close of entry, no refund will be issued except for cancellation of tournament by NWGA or closure of golf course.
Carts
Players are encouraged to ride in a golf cart. Cart fees are included in the entry fee; no refunds will be issued for walking competitors. Non-golfing spectators will be accommodated if cart space is available, RSVP for non-golfer can be made day of competition.

- Any cancellation after April 17th will result in forfeiture of a portion of the payment to the hotel

Pace of Play Requirements
All participants shall play Ready Golf throughout the Event
Each group shall keep-up with the group in front of your group by being ready to tee-off once the last person in the group ahead of yours has hit their second shot and is moving towards the green.
In the fairways, once your cart-partner has decided which club they will use, proceed to your ball, and prepare for your shot.
Once on the green, everyone should be lining up their putt at the same time, until the person away is ready to putt. Without rushing, putt out when possible……Remember the Maximum Ten (10) stroke rule on any hole.
Once you have putted-out, each player shall call out their score made on the hole, before proceeding to the next hole and tee-off once the last person in the group ahead of yours has hit their second shot and is moving towards the green.
Practice Round (Skins Game, Optional)
1st Tee Time: 11:00 am
Cost: Player must pay their Green/Cart Fees at pro shop, Optional $25 Skin’s Game per Person ( Gross and Net Payouts )
Playing in Optional Skins Game Competition: If you’re in the competition you must be pared with at least one other player that is also in the competition. Players can only play one ball on the hole being played. Players must utilize the ten (10) stroke maximum rule on the hole if applicable, see stated rule below. NWGA Committee will address all un-sportsmen like conduct that happens at this event.
NWGA Playing Rules: If winter Rules are in play; Player’s may mark, lift, and clean their ball, then place the ball within one club length (Right, Left, or Behind) the initial marked position of the ball anywhere on the course no nearer to the hole. USGA Rules will govern play for this event.
Tee Box: [Flt ‘A’ ( 0-13 handicap ) and Flt ‘B’ ( 14 – 32 handicap )] use TEE # 5, Designated Senior’s ( age 65+ with handicaps 16 – 32 ) use FORWARD TEE # 4, Women Flt use TEE # 3. Note: Flights (Flt) breakout will be determined by the number of entries.
Ten (10) Stroke Maximum Rule: Once you reached the tenth stroke anywhere on the hole played, pickup your ball and record ten (10) on the score card for that hole.
For any discrepancies unresolved within the group: The player shall play two balls and report discrepancies to tournament rules committee immediately after the round. Let us all have fun, protect the integrity of the game, and show respect to your playing partners and others on the course. NWGA Committee will address all un-sportsmen like conduct that happens at this event.
Score Cards: Please do not total scores on the card the computer will take care of it, only enter the score made on each hole. All player signatures must be on the official scorecard. At the completion of play all scorecards are immediately return to the pro shop. Please keep a second card for validation and personal use.
Tournament Rules
Stroke Play Competition: If player arrives to the golf course late for the tournament and does not reach their starting hole by the time his group has hit their first shot. The player must take the ten (10) stroke maximum rule on the hole. Note: The player can continue playing, however will be ineligible to place in the stroke play competition. The player can still win skins and close to pin competitions.

Closes to Pins (KP’s): Please make sure you or the member(s) of your group record their name on the correct sign for flights. NO VALIDATION REQUIRED (Meaning you do not have to par the hole).
NWGA Clubs Team Competition, Saturday’s play only: The net scores from the best Twelve (12) players from each club will determine the overall Team Competition winner for the current calendar year. Each club must have a minimum of four (4) players to qualify for the team competition and to activate Mr. Par (Mr. Par will make-up the remaining Eight (8) players for the club, with each player given the scorecard par value for the golf course). NOTE: Each Club is required to submit $100 towards the prize fund for this competition even if you are unable to attend or field a team.
Sunday’s Team Scramble Competition: The NWGA Scoring Committee with pair teams, each team will consist of a member with the following handicaps; low, medium, high, and women based on the number of participants. If a team consist of only three players, that team will be awarded a extra shot on each hole and any player may take the extra shot. There will be no minimum drive requirements for this competition. The low handicapper will be the team captain and responsible for turning in the score card.
Score Cards: Please do not total scores on the card the computer will take care of it, only enter the score made on each hole. All player signatures must be on the official scorecard. Turn scorecards in immediately after completion of play. Please keep a second card for validation and personal use.
Prize Payouts: Gross and Net Payouts for each flight are equal. A player is only eligible for one payout, meaning the player will not receive payment for both Gross and Net categories, only where the player earns the largest amount. To break all ties will be broken using the hole ranking on the score card for the Shoot-Out, if the hole ranking cannot break the ties, then divide the prize awarded by the total number of ties.
Horse Event & Rules
Saturday, May 2nd, 2026
(Holes may change at Pro Shop’s discretion)
Horse Race Team Pairing Process: Starts immediately after Individual stroke play numbers are finalized.
- Horse Race pairing list for forming (“Gross” & “Net”) Teams, is based off an even split of the fields Indexes from Saturday’s individual stroke play competition.
- Horse race team pairing (“Gross” & “Net” players) selections are formed the above split groups.
Example Team Formation: Number one Player from Grouped Lowest Gross Scores are paired the Ten (10) Player from Grouped Highest Net Scores will form Horse Race Team number one(1). This process will continue until ten (10) Horse Race Teams are formed. Note: the Group Low Gross player’s number will serve as the team’s horse race number for the competition on the betting form.
HORSE Race Betting Window Opens: After Team Pairings with their Team Numbers are posted.
Horse Race Competition: Starts immediately after betting windows is closed.
Group 1: Five (5) Even Numbered Teams will play holes # 1, # 2 and # 3, where one (1) Horse Race Team is eliminated on each hole.

- All ties between teams will result in a chip-off, the Scoring Official will designate the chipping area.
- In the chip-off the team not chipping first must turn their backs and remain turned until the ball is marked by the official.
Group 2: Five (5) Odd Numbered Teams will play holes # 4, # 5 and # 6, where one (1) Horse Race Team is eliminated on each hole.

- All ties between teams will result in a chip-off, the Scoring Official will designate the chipping area.
- In the chip-off the team not chipping first must turn their backs and remain turned until the ball is marked by the official.
Top 2 Remaining Teams from Group 1 and Group 2 above:
Will meet at hole # 7 where one (1) team will be eliminated. If these teams finish the hole with the same score a chip-off will determine which remaining three (3) teams will be proceeding to hole # 8.
Horse Race Finals:
Final three (3) Teams will play hole # 8 where one (1) team will be eliminated, there will be a chip-off to determine third place if teams finish with the same score on the hole. The Final two (2) teams play hole # 9 to determine 1st & 2nd place in the event. If these teams finish the hole with the same score a chip-off will determine the champion.
Horse Race Competition Rules:

- All teams must be present at the start of the horse race.
- There will be no substitution of players.
- The teams will receive a team number 1 – 10.
- Teams will mark their team number on the ball being played.
- Men tee up from the Tee # 5 and women will use Tee # 3.
- Team members will alternate shots and putts until the ball is holed out.
- Out of Bounds (O.B.) – After a team member has hit their ball O.B., the other team member will play from the spot where the previous shot was taken. The OB USGA rule will not apply.
- Out of Bounds (O.B) from Tee Box – If a male player hits tee shoot OB and has a female partner, the female partner will re-tee from the forward Tee # 3. If the female hits tee shot (OB) and has a male partner, the male partner will re-tee from Tee # 5. The OB USGA rule will not apply.
- Players will play the ball as it lies. Once on the green, players can mark and clean their ball.
- Once all teams are on the Green, teams will putt from inside-out, once a team has started putting, they will continue putting until the ball is holed out.
- . All ties between teams after the completion of the hole will result in a chip-off, the Scoring Official will designate the chipping area. The team that holed last will be the first to chip-off.
- In the chip-off the team not chipping first must turn their backs and remain turned until the ball is marked by the official.
NWGA Committee Member and Scoring Officials:
- The teams will receive a team number 1 – 10.
- Teams will mark their team number on the ball being played.
- Teams will select a player to tee of first, and players will alternate shots and putts until the ball is finally holed out on the hole being played.
- Once all teams are on the Green, teams will putt from inside-out, once a team has started putting they will continue putting until the ball is holed out.
- All ties between teams after the completion of the hole will result in a chip-off, the Scoring Official will designate the chipping area. The team that holed last will be the first to chip-off.
- In the chip-off the team not chipping first must turn their backs and remain turned until the ball is marked by the official.
Tournament Amatuer Status Rule
USGA Rules governing amateur golfers as applied to all NWGA Tournaments. USGA Rule 3b will apply to all NWGA Tournaments
All golfers are amateurs unless they:
1. Accept a prize that is not allowed under Rule 3b : Prizes,
Rule 3b. Handicap Competitions
An amateur playing in a handicap competition is not allowed to accept prize money, but may accept any other prize up to a limit of £700 or US$1000 in value, per competition, unless the national governing body has set a lower limit.
Note: The following exceptions are okay for amateurs to participate-in and accepting cash prizes; Closest to Pins Competition, Skin Games and Putting Contest.
2. Play in a golf competition as a professional,
3. Accept payment or compensation for giving instruction that is not allowed under Rule 4: Instruction,
4. Are employed (including being self-employed) as a golf club or driving range professional, or
5. Hold membership of an association for professional golfers.
An amateur who takes any of these actions becomes a non-amateur and remains a non-amateur until being reinstated as an amateur.
Playing as an Amateur in a Competition with Cash Prizes Above Prize Limit, USGA Rule 3b will apply to all NWGA Tournaments
NWGA, Stipulate that players entering as amateur golfers are not eligible to accept prize money (or are only eligible for prize money up to the limit in Rule 3b ).
NWGA, Requires players entering as amateur golfers that want to protect their amateur status declare their status before the start of the competition (for example, before starting their first round) whether or not they intend to accept any available prize money in excess of the limit should their performance give them that opportunity.

- But even with this declaration, the amateur may still choose not to accept a prize not allowed by the rule.
- Should this occur, NWGA can determine how to distribute any prize that is not accepted
2-Person Putting Contest
Saturday, May 2nd, 2026
Time: 3 pm – 5 pm
Cost $20 per Team. A Player may have multiple partners; however, each team will cost $20. Input your team’s information on the entry form and submit the form along with the $20 team fee to the Putting Contest Chairperson. Note: If you submit an entry form you must pay the $20 fee and you are responsible for collecting your partner’s share of the entry fee.
Location: The putting green will be utilized for the putting contest only.
Contest Format: Team players will alternate putting until the ball is holed-out on each hole. Each team member will putt first on alternating holes (regardless of who putt-out last on the prior hole). A person or team can compete as many times as they choose too, with as many partners as they desire.
Scoring Sheet: Teams will call out their total strokes after each hole is competed and the official scorer will fill-in the score for each hole then totals the sum and hand it off to the event chairperson.
Prize Payouts:
Prize distribution of remaining proceeds will be distributed as follows: 1st Place (50%), 2nd Place (30%), and 3rd Place (20%). Payouts will be based on the lowest three (3) team scores. Any ties will be decided via sudden death putt-off for all teams tied after the event. Note: Tie breakers will be determined by one team member putting and if the putt is not holed a measurement is taken (from the edge of the hole to the ball) with the closest to the hole being deemed the winner.
