Entries will be accepted according to the time of receipt of entry and entry fee. NWGA reserves the right to modify the field limit to accommodate additional competitors. \nEntries: Form\, Fee and Closing Date \nAll players must have an entry application submitted either by: (1) on the FSGC website (firstategolfclub.com) with a credit card\, or (2) by mail with a completed paper application form and check or credit card authorization form. Entry fee of $290 must be paid by every player. Payment will be processed at the time of entry. All player signatures must be on the official scorecard. At the completion of play all scorecards are immediately return to the pro shop. The player must take the ten (10) stroke maximum rule on the hole. Note: The player can continue playing\, however will be ineligible to place in the stroke play competition. The player can still win skins and close to pin competitions. \nNWGA Playing Rules: If winter Rules are in play; Player’s may mark\, lift\, and clean their ball\, then place the ball within one club length (Right\, Left\, or Behind) the initial marked position of the ball anywhere on the course no nearer to the hole. NO VALIDATION REQUIRED (Meaning you do not have to par the hole). \nNWGA Clubs Team Competition\, Saturday’s play only: The net scores from the best Twelve (12) players from each club will determine the overall Team Competition winner for the current calendar year. Each club must have a minimum of four (4) players to qualify for the team competition and to activate Mr. Par (Mr. Par will make-up the remaining Eight (8) players for the club\, with each player given the scorecard par value for the golf course). NOTE: Each Club is required to submit $100 towards the prize fund for this competition even if you are unable to attend or field a team. \nSunday’s Team Scramble Competition: The NWGA Scoring Committee with pair teams\, each team will consist of a member with the following handicaps; low\, medium\, high\, and women based on the number of participants. If a team consist of only three players\, that team will be awarded a extra shot on each hole and any player may take the extra shot. There will be no minimum drive requirements for this competition. The low handicapper will be the team captain and responsible for turning in the score card. \nScore Cards: Please do not total scores on the card the computer will take care of it\, only enter the score made on each hole. All player signatures must be on the official scorecard. Turn scorecards in immediately after completion of play. Please keep a second card for validation and personal use. \nPrize Payouts: Gross and Net Payouts for each flight are equal. A player is only eligible for one payout\, meaning the player will not receive payment for both Gross and Net categories\, only where the player earns the largest amount. To break all ties will be broken using the hole ranking on the score card for the Shoot-Out\, if the hole ranking cannot break the ties\, then divide the prize awarded by the total number of ties. \n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] \nHorse Event & Rules\n\nSaturday\, May 2nd\, 2026\n(Holes may change at Pro Shop’s discretion) \nHorse Race Team Pairing Process: Starts immediately after Individual stroke play numbers are finalized. \n\n Horse Race pairing list for forming (“Gross” & “Net”) Teams\, is based off an even split of the fields Indexes from Saturday’s individual stroke play competition.\n Horse race team pairing (“Gross” & “Net” players) selections are formed the above split groups.\n\nExample Team Formation: Number one Player from Grouped Lowest Gross Scores are paired the Ten (10) Player from Grouped Highest Net Scores will form Horse Race Team number one(1). This process will continue until ten (10) Horse Race Teams are formed. Note: the Group Low Gross player’s number will serve as the team’s horse race number for the competition on the betting form. \nHORSE Race Betting Window Opens: After Team Pairings with their Team Numbers are posted. \nHorse Race Competition: Starts immediately after betting windows is closed. \nGroup 1: Five (5) Even Numbered Teams will play holes # 1\, # 2 and # 3\, where one (1) Horse Race Team is eliminated on each hole. \n\n\n\nAll ties between teams will result in a chip-off\, the Scoring Official will designate the chipping area.\nIn the chip-off the team not chipping first must turn their backs and remain turned until the ball is marked by the official.\n\n\n\nGroup 2: Five (5) Odd Numbered Teams will play holes # 4\, # 5 and # 6\, where one (1) Horse Race Team is eliminated on each hole. \n\n\n\n All ties between teams will result in a chip-off\, the Scoring Official will designate the chipping area.\n In the chip-off the team not chipping first must turn their backs and remain turned until the ball is marked by the official.\n\n\n\n\nTop 2 Remaining Teams from Group 1 and Group 2 above: \nWill meet at hole # 7 where one (1) team will be eliminated. If these teams finish the hole with the same score a chip-off will determine which remaining three (3) teams will be proceeding to hole # 8. \nHorse Race Finals: \nFinal three (3) Teams will play hole # 8 where one (1) team will be eliminated\, there will be a chip-off to determine third place if teams finish with the same score on the hole. The Final two (2) teams play hole # 9 to determine 1st & 2nd place in the event. If these teams finish the hole with the same score a chip-off will determine the champion. \n \nHorse Race Competition Rules: \n\n\n\n All teams must be present at the start of the horse race.\n There will be no substitution of players.\n The teams will receive a team number 1 – 10.\n Teams will mark their team number on the ball being played.\n Men tee up from the Tee # 5 and women will use Tee # 3.\n Team members will alternate shots and putts until the ball is holed out.\n Out of Bounds (O.B.) – After a team member has hit their ball O.B.\, the other team member will play from the spot where the previous shot was taken. The OB USGA rule will not apply.\n Out of Bounds (O.B) from Tee Box – If a male player hits tee shoot OB and has a female partner\, the female partner will re-tee from the forward Tee # 3. If the female hits tee shot (OB) and has a male partner\, the male partner will re-tee from Tee # 5. The OB USGA rule will not apply.\n Players will play the ball as it lies. Once on the green\, players can mark and clean their ball.\n Once all teams are on the Green\, teams will putt from inside-out\, once a team has started putting\, they will continue putting until the ball is holed out.\n. All ties between teams after the completion of the hole will result in a chip-off\, the Scoring Official will designate the chipping area. The team that holed last will be the first to chip-off.\n In the chip-off the team not chipping first must turn their backs and remain turned until the ball is marked by the official.\n\n\n\nNWGA Committee Member and Scoring Officials: \n\nThe teams will receive a team number 1 – 10.\n Teams will mark their team number on the ball being played.\n Teams will select a player to tee of first\, and players will alternate shots and putts until the ball is finally holed out on the hole being played.\n Once all teams are on the Green\, teams will putt from inside-out\, once a team has started putting they will continue putting until the ball is holed out.\n All ties between teams after the completion of the hole will result in a chip-off\, the Scoring Official will designate the chipping area. The team that holed last will be the first to chip-off.\n In the chip-off the team not chipping first must turn their backs and remain turned until the ball is marked by the official.\n\n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] \nTournament Amatuer Status Rule\n\nUSGA Rules governing amateur golfers as applied to all NWGA Tournaments. USGA Rule 3b will apply to all NWGA Tournaments \nAll golfers are amateurs unless they: \n1. Accept a prize that is not allowed under Rule 3b : Prizes\, \nRule 3b. Handicap Competitions \nAn amateur playing in a handicap competition is not allowed to accept prize money\, but may accept any other prize up to a limit of £700 or US$1000 in value\, per competition\, unless the national governing body has set a lower limit. \nNote: The following exceptions are okay for amateurs to participate-in and accepting cash prizes; Closest to Pins Competition\, Skin Games and Putting Contest. \n2. Play in a golf competition as a professional\,\n3. Accept payment or compensation for giving instruction that is not allowed under Rule 4: Instruction\,\n4. Are employed (including being self-employed) as a golf club or driving range professional\, or\n5. Hold membership of an association for professional golfers. \nAn amateur who takes any of these actions becomes a non-amateur and remains a non-amateur until being reinstated as an amateur. \nPlaying as an Amateur in a Competition with Cash Prizes Above Prize Limit\, USGA Rule 3b will apply to all NWGA Tournaments \nNWGA\, Stipulate that players entering as amateur golfers are not eligible to accept prize money (or are only eligible for prize money up to the limit in Rule 3b ). \nNWGA\, Requires players entering as amateur golfers that want to protect their amateur status declare their status before the start of the competition (for example\, before starting their first round) whether or not they intend to accept any available prize money in excess of the limit should their performance give them that opportunity. \n\n\n\nBut even with this declaration\, the amateur may still choose not to accept a prize not allowed by the rule.\nShould this occur\, NWGA can determine how to distribute any prize that is not accepted\n\n\n\n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] \n2-Person Putting Contest\n\nSaturday\, May 2nd\, 2026 \nTime: 3 pm – 5 pm \nCost $20 per Team. A Player may have multiple partners; however\, each team will cost $20. Input your team’s information on the entry form and submit the form along with the $20 team fee to the Putting Contest Chairperson. Note: If you submit an entry form you must pay the $20 fee and you are responsible for collecting your partner’s share of the entry fee. \nLocation: The putting green will be utilized for the putting contest only. \nContest Format: Team players will alternate putting until the ball is holed-out on each hole. Each team member will putt first on alternating holes (regardless of who putt-out last on the prior hole). A person or team can compete as many times as they choose too\, with as many partners as they desire. \nScoring Sheet: Teams will call out their total strokes after each hole is competed and the official scorer will fill-in the score for each hole then totals the sum and hand it off to the event chairperson. \nPrize Payouts: \nPrize distribution of remaining proceeds will be distributed as follows: 1st Place (50%)\, 2nd Place (30%)\, and 3rd Place (20%). Payouts will be based on the lowest three (3) team scores. Any ties will be decided via sudden death putt-off for all teams tied after the event.
